Gee Aik started his career as an auditor with one of the Big Four accounting firms in the 1970s. He spent 14 years with the Singapore office and US Executive Office of the Big Four accounting firm.  Besides being involved in assurance assignments of both listed and non-listed entities, he also had been involved with professional development and research work while with the US Executive Office of the Big Four accounting firm.

 

Gee Aik left the Big Four accounting firm in 1993 to join the hospitality industry as the controller of an international hotel chain. In addition to financial responsibility, he was also involved in certain operational areas of the hotel as well as new hotel development projects in the region.

 

He left the hospitality industry in 1998 to establish an accounting practice which was later incorporated into R Chan & Co (the precedent firm of R Chan & Associates PAC) in 2007 where he joined as a partner. Gee Aik becomes a director of R Chan & Associates PAC with its incorporation in 2010.

 

During his career spanning over 30 years, Gee Aik has been involved in assurance work, tax compliance work as well as financial due diligence and internal control risk review. He has also served as Independent Director, Audit Committee member, Nomination Committee member and Remuneration Committee member of several companies listed on The Singapore Exchange.

 

Gee Aik is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accounts, United Kingdom and a fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. He is also an Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax & GST) accredited by the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals.

 

He has also been awarded a Master of Business Administration by Henley Management College, United Kingdom.
